Textile Naratives at Drumcroon

Year 4 had a wonderful afternoon at Drumcroon Art Gallery in Wigan looking at the work of artists Val Jackson and Jane McKeating.

These artists use different fabrics and threads to compose their work. We drew some sketches to inspire us and have used these to develop our own Art at St. Andrew’s.

A big thanks to Mrs Ely, Mrs Schofield and Mrs Crooks who joined Year 4 on their creative learning experience.

In Art we have been looking at different viewpoints and have been inspired by the work of the artist David Hockney. Here is a slideshow of our Hockney inspired photographs.

Dinosaurs!

Year 4 were privileged to have a paleontologist come to visit us and speak to us about dinosaurs. We were able to look at and feel real fossils and learn all about the world millions of years ago during the time of the dinosaurs. Hopefully we shall have some wonderful dinosaur posters to show very soon – so watch this space!

We were eager to learn about dinosaurs.
