On Wednesday the 13th of October Me and some other children in year5 and6 went on a football trip. We set off at half 2 and we left at 6 o’clock but I got home at half 6 because I had a chicken burger on the way home at McDonalds’. It was at Leigh sports Village, Ava and me went in my mum’s car. Other people went in Mr. Sharkeys and Lucy’s dad’s car. When we got there we went to the toilet and then we went on to the pitch. It was massive but luckily they split it in to threes. Because we brought our own balls we were allowed to practise. After a couple of minutes Mr. Sharkey played a couple of mini games with us. Then finally Mr. Sharkey told us the rules and we played the first team but before that he told us that we had to pretend to be in y5 and y6. The first game it was one to us and 0 to them, the second game it was 1 to us and 0 to them, and the third game it was one to us and 0 to them and the fourth game was 1 all and the fifth game was 1 0 to st. Burnedets. Then finally we found out who was in the final. It was us and st. Burnedets. The last game was0 0 so it went down to penalty shoot outs but it was 5 4 to them!!!! We got a medal though. Then after that we went home and had our McDonalds’. I think we all had a really good day.
My badminton trip on Tuesday the twelve of October 2010. We went to a badminton festival. We went at 3:30 and my mum picked me up at 5:30pm. I got a ride in Mr Sharkey’s car, it was very small compared to my mum’s but it was still so fun. On the way there, first we were talking about where badminton came from because I asked him “ were did the name badminton come from ?, did it come from badminton house were they first discovered it?.” Finally we got there it was at robin park sports hall. When we got in the badminton room all the nets were set up, and because we were early and luckily Mr Sharkey had brought his stuff so we practised. A couple of minutes later the other schools came and practised with Mr. sharkey’s bats as well. Soon after that the trainers came and we warmed up with some badminton exercises with shuttlecocks. Then we played 6 mini games on 3 we got the highest score!!!!!!! But then me and Jessica had to swap teams because Lucy and Megan went to the toilet. Finally we played some matches we lost 1 and won 1!!!! But our team got in the finals and St. Andrews school teams came first and second!!!
Congratulations to all the children who attended the Badminton Festival at Robin Park. A funtime was had by all and our two teams were brilliant as they finished 1st and 2nd overall. A wonderful achievement! Well done Ben, Jamie, Megan, Emily, Lucy, Luke, Ryan and Jessica – fantastic performances all round. As ever, your behaviour was outstanding and you are an asset to yourselves and your school. A big thanks to all our supportive parents and a special thank you to Mrs Marshall and Mr and Mrs Ackers for cheering us on and helping out with transport.
See you all at practise next Tuesday. Well done Year 4.
Here are some photographs of our wonderful musical dance routines that we created and performed with Mrs Holmes. Look out especially for Meghan’s amazing dancing, Alicia M’s brilliant balance and Connor O’s fantastic drumming. Well done Year 4 – outstanding work!
